چکیده
A method of MC simulations including quantum interference, proposed recently by A.Krzywicki and the present author, is explained. 1. Introduction. The aim of this talk is to explain details of a scheme for MC simulations of multiparticle production including HBT interference which we proposed recently together with Andrzej Krzywicki [1]. The problem became suddenly of great practical importance, when it was realized that the HBT effects may seriously affect some precise measurements of the standard model parameters [2]. As we have heard yesterday from Krzysztof Fialkowski, the existing implementations of quantum interference into standard MC codes suffer from many problems, theoretical as well as practical ones [3, 4]. Therefore construction of a viable MC code correcly including the interference effects is badly needed. To do this, however, it seems first necessary to formulate the problem and the goals to be achieved. It should perhaps be emphasized at this point that the effects of HBT interference are by no means " trivial " or " automatic " , as it is sometimes believed. On the contrary, they depend in essential way on the physics of the problem. Consequently, there is no single, unique method of implementing the HBT interference into existing codes. One must therefore be careful to spell out the underlying physical assumptions.

Einstein's E = mc 2 unifies the momentum-energy relations for massive and massless particles. According to Wigner, the internal space-time symmetries of massive and massless particles are isomorphic to O(3) and E(2) respectively. According to Inonu and Wigner, O(3) can be contracted to E(2) in the large-radius limit. It is noted that the O(3)-like little group for massive particles can be contr...

We show that the effects of quantum interference can be implemented in Monte-Carlo generators by modelling the generalized Wigner functions. A specific prescription for an appropriate modification of the weights of events produced by standard generators is proposed.

We derive simple formulas connecting the generalized Wigner functions for s-ordering with the density matrix, and vice-versa. These formulas proved very useful for quantum mechanical applications, as, for example, for connecting master equations with Fokker-Planck equations, or for evaluating the quantum state from Monte Carlo simulations of Fokker-Planck equations, and finally for studying pos...

Recent developments of the two MC-generators Sphinx and Pepsi are discussed. In Sphinx the process of polarized photo production was included to simulate the potential of a polarized HERA to measure the photon structure function. In Pepsi the CC polarized cross sections on tree level have been added together with the electroweak corrections to simulate their effect on CC signals proposed for a ...

We clarify the relationship between the current formalism developed by Gyulassy, Kaufmann and Wilson and the Wigner function formulation suggested by Pratt for the 2-particle correlator in Hanbury-Brown Twiss interferometry. When applied to a hydrodynamical description of the source with a sharp freeze-out hypersurface, our results remove a slight error in the prescription given by Makhlin and ...
